Q: My engine check light is on?

A: This indicates that the engine control unit has detected a problem somewhere in the engine management system. This could be as simple as a mis-behaving sensor.

To determine why the light is on the car must be connected to our engine diagnostic equipment and the relevant information retrieved while monitoring the engine operation to determine the exact cause of the problem.

It is advisable not to drive the vehicle excessively whilst the light is illuminated as this could cause further and more expensive damage to the vehicle.
